Backstage at the April 27 kickoff of her Formation tour in the Miami, a photographer caught Beyonce crouching down in an all-black outfit with her left hand raised to her face. She’s clearly not wearing the $5 million ring Jay slipped on her finger eight years ago. Other photos from the show, including more of tho pics posted on Beyonce’s own website, indicate she kept the sparkler off for the entire performance.
Well, money can’t buy you royalty, but it can buy you to the top of our list, which was what Richard Burton must have been thinking when he gave his ring to Elizabeth Taylor. How much is it worth? Let’s just say it’s worth more than Beyonce’s ring that’s on spot no. 2.
While Beyoncé may have attempted to thwart speculation about her marriage when she shouted out to her hubby Jay Z during the first night of her Formation World Tour on Wednesday, it didn’t stop the alarms from sounding when people noticed the power couple had removed their wedding rings.Photographed backstage during the show, Bey was notably missing her $5 million diamond rock. Some might chalk it up to her taking extra precautions while performing. However, the timing is a little too coincidental in relation to all the speculation surrounding the topic of infidelity on Lemonade.
Beyoncé began “Halo,” the closing number of her first Formation World Tour concert yesterday, with a message. “I want to dedicate this song to my beautiful husband,” she told Jay Z, very publicly shutting down divorce rumors, post-Lemonade. “I love you so much!”
Their lack of wedding bands may be due to their more permanent symbol of love for one another: matching IV tattoos on their ring fingers. The couple originally got the ink to symbolize their wedding date of April 4, 2008, as well as the fact that both of their birthdays fall on the fourth ( Bey is Sept. 4 and Jay Z is Dec. 4).
PG / Splash News Their lack of wedding bands may be due to their more permanent symbol of love for one another: matching IV tattoos on their ring fingers. The couple originally got the ink to symbolize their wedding date of April 4, 2008, as well as the fact that both of their birthdays fall on the fourth ( Bey is Sept. 4 and Jay Z is Dec. 4).However, it’s been rumored that the singer was in the process of removing the tattoo as she posted a photo with a bandaid over the ink in 2014. Since then, the ink appears to be fading more and more over time. Not to mention, all the talk surrounding Bey’s Lemonade, lyrics about cheating and “Becky with the good hair” have only heightened speculation around their marital problems.
In fact, during the “Don’t Hurt Yourself” video on the visual album, Bey rips off her diamond ring and throws it as she sings, “If you try this shit again, you gon’ lose your wife.” Still, despite all the hoopla, Queen B made it a point to profess her love for Jay during her performance of “Halo” on Wednesday.”I want to dedicate this song to my beautiful husband,” she said, “I love you so much.”
The solitaire diamond engagement ring evokes timeless elegance, but designer jewelry houses have cooked up more trends this year that elevate these rings to a new level. A combination of novel prone settings, air of sensuality, and contrasting colors, among others, set the benchmark for the most beautiful engagement rings today.
It’s the thought that counts, we know, but we wonder what sort of thoughts were going on in the minds of these women when their fiancés opened the box to reveal one of these lovely rings inside. How about $2.5 million? That’s 10-carat diamond ring that Michael Douglas choose to fit right on the finger of Catherine Zeta Jones.
But it’s not all price, really. As far as surprising costs go, the “cheapest” of the most expensive rings in our list belongs to Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge. It’s only about $137,200. Prince Williams is not scrimping on her for sure; rather, the ring belongs to his mother, Princess Diana, who wore the same piece after agreeing to marry the England’s heir to the throne decades ago. It’ definitely a successful strategy to give such a jewel to your loved one.
LJStauth says:Obviously, nobody has control over such things, because this is about true value. The only down side, Liz Taylor’s would draw a high value, because it would have been purchased in 1963-64, and the value is based it’s assessed value at the time of the auction in 2011, long after one of the most well known actress’ had passed. Liz Taylor memorabilia would be worth more just because of her name. But Princess’s Kate’s ring is a blue sapphire, and the rest are more expensive and rare diamonds. Reply to this comment »
Jay Z seems to be complicit in that. While an official photographer for Bey shot and shared pics of her ringless hand, it was a shutterbug for Roc Nation, the company Jay founded, who posted the pic of his bare ring finger the night of the show.
She then shared a couple of backstage photos on her site—and people are homing in on one, where Bey appears not to be wearing her wedding band. Jay Z was photographed at the show without his band, too.
Officially nothing. There are many reasons someone may not wear his or her wedding band‚ especially during a physically strenuous, 30-plus song concert. Not all signal a separation or divorce, particularly when that person says “I love you” to her husband on stage. (And the same logic applies to Jay Z, even though he wasn’t performing.)
