Application Requirements
- Both applicants must be at least 18 years of age to apply without parental consent. Applicants must apply in person, on the same day, and bring a driver's license, passport, or Florida Identification Card. If either applicant was previously married, the date the prior marriage ended by divorce, annulment, or death is required.
- The fee is $93.50 in Sarasota County and $96.00 in Manatee County. Accepted forms of payment are cash, credit card, or check or money order made payable to the "Clerk of Court".
- The License must be obtained within 60 days of the wedding date. For Florida residents, there is a three-day waiting period. However, if you take a pre-marital course, the waiting period is waived, and the fee is reduced to $32.50. A valid certificate of completion from a pre-marital course conducted by a registered course provider must be presented to the Clerk of Court’s office and to us. Non-Florida residents do not have a three-day waiting period.
- A blood test is not required.
Marriage License
- License must be used within sixty days of issuance.
- Marriage license may be used in any county in the State of Florida.
- Executed license must be returned within ten days to the county in which is was issued.
